Ryan & Allison's day started off with a warm sunny morning with the girls getting ready in the main barn venue with an already setup an beautiful ceremony arrangement moved indoors for fear of the storms that had just missed the area to the south. Faint laughter could be heard from the cheering groomsmen across the driveway in their "guys" clubhouse as the photographer took shots of the guys on the built-in basketball court downstairs. After getting final detail shots of the guys and some group photos, the guys were tucked back into their clubhouse so the bride could have a first look with her dad on the wrap around porch at the house across from the barn and clubhouse on the property.
An attachment to the fathers tie was gifted from the bride which was an old picture of her as a kid skiing with her dad, a hobby both the bride and groom now enjoy together as seen by much of their wedding decor.
After some front loaded family photos, the ceremony quickly arrived. Under the warm tungsten lighting of the barn, the crowd was seated in rows around the many pillars and tables in the barn resembling a half traditional, half reception space seating arrangement. The groom was tearful as his wife to be walked down during the processional, taking her place by the skii gear and the groom.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds made a quick trip to Otsego Resort for portraits near the ski lifts. The weather had shifted dramatically from the warmth of the afternoon, bringing cooler temperatures, overcast skies, and a light drizzle that created soft, flattering conditions for photos and video. After sharing a few quiet moments together and capturing portraits that reflected one of their favorite hobbies, Ryan and Allison returned to The Sonshine Barn to celebrate with their family and friends.
The reception began with introductions, dinner, and a series of heartfelt toasts that had guests alternating between laughter and tears. Family members and lifelong friends shared stories from different chapters of the couple's lives, highlighting the qualities that brought Ryan and Allison together.
As the formalities came to a close, the energy inside the barn quickly shifted. The dance floor remained busy throughout the night as guests of all ages joined in the celebration, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes for memorable wedding films. Between songs, guests gathered around the couple to share hugs, stories, and well wishes for their future together. What began as a warm spring morning ended with a packed dance floor, smiling faces, and a room full of people celebrating the start of Ryan and Allison's marriage. The combination of meaningful family moments, personal touches inspired by their love of skiing, and the welcoming atmosphere of The Sonshine Barn made for a wedding day that felt uniquely their own from beginning to end.
